Advanced Settings

1. For windows only, you can encrypt the build data that is transferred between all the components in your Incredibuild environment.

   • Windows 9.x: Go to Coordinator Monitor >  Tools menu > Coordinator Settings > General tab, and select the Use encrypted communication check box:

     

   • Windows 10.x: Go to Coordinator >  Settings > General tab, and select the Encrypted communication check box:

     

2. Limit concurrent PDB file instances: 

   Incredibuild enables you to limit the number of PDB files belonging to the same project that can be built concurrently. This results in a smaller number of PDB files and an acceleration of link times, but it also limits the potential for parallelization in builds. This means that the number of compilations that can run in parallel for a specific project cannot be more than the number that is specified as a limit. When using Incredibuild Cloud, it is recommended to increase the specified limit or to remove this limit entirely, in order to fully utilize the cloud resources.  

   1. Open the Agent Settings dialog box.

   2. Select Visual Studio Builds > Advanced.

   3. Under PDB File Allocation uncheckLimit concurrent PDB instances to or increase the number of instances that can run concurrently.
