# Moving the Coordinator to a New Machine

You must install the new Coordinator on a physical machine, or a static VM.

1. On the existing Coordinator, backup the grid:

   **\[INCREDIBUILD\_INSTALLATION]\Manager\manager.exe backup -b \<backup\_file>**

2. If you have an offline license, deactivate the license on the existing Coordinator, as described in [Offline Licenses](/windows/10.33.0/offline-licenses).

   **Note:** If you have an online license, this will automatically be migrated.

3. On the new Coordinator machine, restore the grid:

   1. Run the Incredibuild Setup File as described in [Standard Installation](/windows/10.33.0/standard-installation) .

   2. On the **Setup Options** page, select **Restore from backup**.

   3. Complete the installation.

4. If you have an offline license, complete the activation flow as described in [Offline Licenses](/windows/10.33.0/offline-licenses).
